Camping with the family can be stressful but it can be really fun too – creating your own adventures and discovering new places! OK, so in the UK it’s highly likely there will be rain but sometimes this makes the experience even more awesome – as we can see from our #CampingMemories entries.
If you don’t like getting wet then head indoors. Whether camping, caravanning or in the motorhome we’re sure you’ll find something fantastic to do. And we’ve got some good starting points for you.
Outdoor Adventure
You’re camping, it’s time to get back to nature and enjoy the fresh air. In the sunshine it’s easy to enjoy the great outdoors but when the rain begins to fall it’s a totally different story. But it doesn’t have to be – grab your wellies, raincoat and a towel for your return. You’re off to explore.
We’re on the search for the biggest SPLASH! Kids love puddles but most of the time all they hear is “don’t jump in that puddle!” Not this time because this time they’re going to enjoy the rainy weather.
The only issue is drying the clothes afterwards, if you don’t have the luxury of an awning or indoor drying area then try and choose a campsite with this facility. The campsite finder is a good place to start your search for the perfect holiday park.
There are plenty of rainy day games too; all you need is a little imagination.
Indoor Adventure
Turn up prepared for the worst make sure you have colouring pencils, books, and a tablet to keep everyone entertained. But you’re camping you don’t want to have to rely on technology and we’re happy to announce that this can be avoided – choose a campsite with plenty of indoor activities. From swimming pools and arcades to ball pools and shops, campsites come in many shapes and sizes so choose wisely.
If you don’t have the luxury of a campsite with indoor fun then you should create a rainy day activity pack. And to help you we’ve created some fun activities that the kids can enjoy come rain or shine.
