The last bank holiday before Christmas is fast approaching, that’s right, the LAST one! Many of you will be planning an extra-long lie in or spending your extra day googling hangover cures. However, for those of you looking for a short trip away, we as specialist providers of campervan insurance have compiled a list of some of the most perfect weekend retreats to make sure you take advantage of that extra day.
Robin Hood festival
Every year the heroic outlaw of Nottingham pays a visit to Sherwood Forest accompanied by his merry men to the Robin Hood Festival. There is plenty to do for the little ones including medieval music, story-telling, and performances all-day-long. You’ll be enthralled by the abundance of medieval entertainment including strolling street performers and the battle between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. You’ll also get the chance to try your hand at archery near Major Oak as well as taking part in some wild challenges set by the RSPB and Woodland Trust.
This is a fantastic day out for the family, but be sure to check out Kelham Hall and Country Park on the campsite finder for a place to stay.
The festival starts on the 27th of August and runs until the 2nd of September.
