We have all left the odd thing in a taxi, especially after a night out. But have you ever left a baby, a fake leg or thousands of pounds? It’s more common than you think from the UK to Australia people are constantly leaving personal items in taxis.
According to Ingogo’s research it’s usually men aged between 25 and 34 who are the most forgetful. So, what are the oddest things left in taxis?
A list of unusual items released by one of the largest taxi firms in the North East included; false teeth, a goldfish and an artificial leg.
But that’s nothing compared to leaving a baby in a taxi. Research undertaken in America and by Boro Taxis in the UK found that babies had been left in a taxi!
The founder of Boro Taxis said “If it’s not obvious to whom the property belongs, our policy is to hand it to the police in accordance with licensing conditions” – so if you ever leave a baby in a taxi, you know where to find it!
Perhaps the most worrying items left in a taxi are political documents. It seems that whilst most of us can remember our personal possessions, those running the country cannot. It appears that politicians are rather careless. Take Nick Clegg for example he left the Lib Dem’s debate strategy in the back seat of a taxi. There’s also Gordon Brown’s advisor leaving important notes just lying around. This is rather careless.
But its wealthy businessmen who come out on top for carelessness leaving; money, gold bars and diamond rings in taxis on a regular basis. One man even left $20,000 in a New York taxi and didn’t even try to retrieve it!
